Tessy will think about a nice spot on The Pond to use this for a logo heading.  Any suggestions?

"I came across this old black and white picture and colorized it for myself. After using it as my personal wallpaper for a time, it struck me what a perfect picture it would be for your website. Considering the focus of Pettipond, and the very name itself, I thought you might like to use it as one of your logo pictures. It was originally one of the Beautiful Brits series without a title. When I colorized it, I named it "PondPetti." I am a child of the fifties, and miss the days when women never ventured from their boudoirs without their full, lacy petticoats. Keep up the good work."

~~ POUFBUNNY COMMENTARY by TESSY ~~

A new phenomenon has come upon the scene, and I thought I would make a few remarks.   Replies are invited.

Recently individuals have begun posting petticoat pictures on various venues, similar to a site called “Photobox”.  Normally this would not be unusual, and I would not comment except in cases where the pictures have been stolen and re-posted.  This is generally not the case here.

The pictures under discussion are of two types:  First are the ones which are pretty nicely presented, except that they show ladies, mostly celebrities, many of whom never wore a petti in their lives.  The posters have changed the pictures to show a flurry of pettis.  That is their right.  All in fun.  However, there should be a disclaimer, so that people do not get the wrong historical idea.  Women who wore pettis, and were known for that, should be posted, and so be given accolades.  But, we are in danger of making some think that the altered images were of ladies that really WERE “petti-ladies", when they were not.  In turn, is it too much to ask that a disclaimer be added to the effect that they were not, that these are altered images?  Let’s protect history here.

Secondly, some of the pictures are genuine, but blurred beyond recognition.  Highly unsatisfying.  Perhaps they should omitted?

What do YOU think?

For you Poufbunnies who would like to have a direct link from your desktop to Petticoat Pond, with an appropriate PP icon:

1. Bring up PP on your browser.
2. Make PP a "Favorite" or "Bookmark".  Crinolyn has taught Tessy how to  put code
in the site so that making PP a "Favorite" or "Bookmark" will do that with a little PP
     icon next to it.
3. Reduce the size of  your browser so you can drag the icon to it.
4. Drag the icon from the "Favorite" or "Bookmark" section to your desktop.
5. Viola! Now you can get here quicker!

Tessy saw this promo picture of the new Barbara Hersey movie, "Frogs for Snakes" (Cynthia Moon was nice enough to send it). This shows her sitting in a car with what appeared to be a full skirt and a petti peeking out (see below). Not enough to let us know whether it is a FrouFrou Film or not! Anyone who sees this movie, please report!

BBC and Masterpiece Theater have filmed a new version of Great Expectations. The previews look very promising, with lots of cage crinolines and petticoated dresses. Although, Alice has sent me some clips, they are not suitable for the Internet. Keep and eye out
for it!
